Hi, I’m Robert Peters, COVID 19 travel subject matter expert at the North Dakota Department of Health. With Labor Day approaching, I’m here to give out some advice that can help you with your holiday travel. Once you book your flight, cruise, and/or hotel, you should check your destination for any current travel restrictions. Currently, to enter Canada by land or air, you’ll need to be vaccinated to be allowed entry. If your destination requires a negative COVID 19 test, make sure you know which test is accepted and in what timeframe it needs to be taken in.

Please note it can take up to 72 hours to process your test once it’s received at the state lab in Bismarck. Holidays and weekends can delay your result, so you may need to test at a private facility. You may need to show your vaccination card/negative test before boarding your flight or upload this information into an app. To enter Canada, you’ll need to upload the required information into the ArriveCan app before crossing the border. If you are feeling ill or test positive for COVID 19, please stay home. Have a great holiday and safe travels
