    These vaccines are working against severe infections, specifically hospitalization. In North Dakota, for fully vaccinated individuals, those who have the primary series, those individuals are 4.4 times less likely to be hospitalized. And then for boosted individuals, since November 1st, those individuals are 10.9 times less likely to be hospitalized due to COVID-19 compared to somebody who’s not fully vaccinated.

    I think that just shows that the individuals where we are seeing breakthrough hospitalizations and deaths, they do tend to be older individuals. And that’s why it’s important for everyone to get vaccinated so we’re not spreading COVID to older individuals who maybe don’t have the best immune response, sometimes, to COVID-19 vaccines or any vaccines for that matter.
